Weekly SE23.life Update - 20th June

In Local News

We were sad to hear about Robert Gibson, who has been missing for several days. Robert has many friends in the area, particularly due to his community work. His disappearance triggered a social media campaign, a search party on Saturday, and also a flyer campaign, which @Mitchy117 helped organise, and which was supported by local businesses including @Sugar_Mountain.

Popular Topics on the Forum

In happier news, Forest Hill was adorned with new street art this week, as part of the @HornimanMuseum’s Festival of Brazil. And @Pauline and others are making progress commissioning landmark street art to welcome people to the area in spectacular fashion as they drive through.

Drivers will have plenty of time to observe our street art, as Lewisham Council will be rolling out its 20mph speed limits across the borough by September. There are mixed feelings about this in the forum.

Seemed this was Pizza Week on SE23.life, with three separate topics on pizza outlets BOnA, Mamma Dough and Trattoria Raffaele. Great to get @andrea’s insight, as manager of BOnA, answering your questions and introducing his new delivery service.

SE23.life’s Super Sharers and Contributors

Now to recognise some forum heroes - @anon64893700 in particular, whose social media sharing bought in over a thousand visits to SE23.life in the last 30 days!

SE23.life counts how many visitors you bring in when you share forum posts onto social media using this button:

The team would also like to recognise members that contribute great posts. So, in future, the leaderboard will also include you too. When your stories feature on our official SE23.life Facebook and Twitter pages, we’ll ensure you get credited for any clicks on these stories.

A recent favourite of ours was @StDavid’s post about Rudy the Cat, which we shared on social media. As you can see on the leaderboard, this story alone brought 261 people to the forum.

Countdown to the Meetup

Our second meetup event is just ten days away (30th June, Sylvan Post, 7:30pm).

Feel free to pop in to get your profile verified, or to stay and enjoy a few drinks on us (thanks to the kind sponsorship we received from Finches Sports and Emma Price’s Woodwind and Piano Tuition). :tropical_drink:  :beers:

We’ll probably focus on the forum and community developments, but this meetup is also a chance to get to know your neighbours here in SE23, and the people that run our brilliant local businesses. We hope you can make it along.
