Catalytic thieves in SE23

I had my Catalytic converter stolen during the night, on Devonshire Road. Apparently, this type of crime is rife, as thieves can get £300 plus for them. As a result my car has been written off. I’m devastated. The only thing you can do to prevent this is to have a plate wielded either side of the cat. I read online that this happened twice to the same person. No sooner was it replaced, when they came back for that as well. No insurance company would insure him as a result.

So sorry @Poppet21. This happened to me a year ago, almost to the day.

The disruption these cretins cause is immense. I also had someone drive into my car the spring before. Again I had the registration number. (A black mini, I have the number if anyone wants more detail, though the car might have been disposed of since then, it was seen speeding around Thorpewood for a while afterwards.) Plus I had a goid independent witness who made a statement and CCTV. I even had the other car’s wing mirror, which they’d left in the road as they speeded away up Sydenham High Street. The police took them to Court, told me I needn’t appear as they would deal with it Then the police didn’t show up for the Court hearing, so the case was dropped.
