Nature category?

Re the post I just with photographs of mating parakeets, nuthatches and bee flies

was fitness / health the right place? I wanted something like Nature, but I suspect that is getting too narrow. In the Sydenham Town Forum it would (will) go in Town Café. Over to the admins on this.

Nature was fairly high on the “emerging catgeories” list.

As always, we have to be conservative with the number of categories we create, as:

• selecting categories is very onerous on mobile devices (which don’t auto-complete the category name)
• the category list is already overwhelming for new users
• some categories aren’t busy enough to justify their existence.
• we have to take care that public categories hold the SE23 theme of the site
• new members may not realise they can mute categories - and it’s a bit hidden as a feature

If we create a new category I’d suggest we get rid of the Property category and merge its posts into Wanted/Offered

Awww and I thought it would have SO much potential…
